2nd Annual BBQ Capital Cook-off presented by Bank of the Carolinas
In a town known world-wide for it's heritage of slow cooking meat over hickory wood, it is no wonder that we would have a KCBS santioned cook-off. If you love great barbecue, wine, and music, you’ll want to be in Lexington for our 2nd Annual BBQ cook-off.  Sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS), the 2011 event brought 54 teams and judges from across the United States.  Barbecue vendors will enable you to taste a wide variety of types of barbecue.  Other activities include the Southern Gateway Wine Festival, four bands - including Hunter Hayes sponsored by Q104.1, a Corn Hole Throw Down, a demonstration of Lexington Style BBQ, , kids activities and much more! No admission! National Night Out
Coordinated by the Lexington Police Department there are exhibits by police, fire and safety units throughout Davidson County live performances by area musicians, games for kids, information booths set up by community organizations and even free hotdogs and drinks while supplies last.  Contact the Lexington Police Department at 336-243-3303 for more information.
