Pigs in the City
Pigs in the City is a public art initiative coordinated by Uptown Lexington, Inc. Five new groups of 20 to 25 whimsically decorated fiberglass pigs lined the streets of Historic Uptown Lexington during the projects in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2009.
The pigs, each with a different theme, were painted and decorated to portray the title and business that they represented. With 121 pigs created during the five years of the project, even today, visitors can see over 35 pigs on the streets and in businesses throughout the Uptown Lexington Business District amd 30 others in Lexington.
Merchandise including t-shirts and commemorative posters are available at Uptown Lexington, Inc.'s office and at various uptown merchants.
